About Wealth and Retail Banking
Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) serves more than 11 million clients in many of the world’s fastest-growing markets. Our client continuum spans from Mass Retail to Affluent, including high-net worth clients served by our Private Bank. We leverage digital banking channels with a human touch to provide clients with differentiated products and services such as deposits, payments, financing, wealth management and personalised advice. We also support small business clients with their business banking needs.
We are seeking a dedicated Credit Analyst to join our team. Your primary role will be to provide timely and relevant credit analysis for a portfolio of Standard Chartered Bank’s clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- To provide insightful, relevant, succinct, and timely credit analysis of a portfolio of SCB’s clients (current or prospective).
- Perform periodic reviews on a portfolio of Business Banking Medium Enterprise clients to identify any emerging credit deterioration and recommend remedial action, if any.
- Maintain market awareness so as to be vigilant of trends affecting existing and future credit exposure including regulatory and policy changes.
- Ensure compliance with the Bank’s credit risk underwriting policies and other internal policies, regulatory guidelines and other operating procedures.
- Analysis of financial documentation and supplemental data to support lending decision-making and recommending credit requests to appropriately meet business needs.
- Personally develop and maintain strong working relationships with Relationship Managers along with Client Coverage Managers and Credit Approvers to ensure that all risks to the business, financial and non-financial, are properly recognized and thoughtfully mitigated in proposals.
- Ensure that all work is delivered within agreed timeframes and meets the required high quality standard.
- Pro-actively suggest and design improvements in process workflow, where applicable.
- Support Team Leader and others in the team on ad hoc projects, strategic initiatives and exercises aimed at improving or enhancing the team’s activities.
- Continually strive to share key relevant knowledge and learnings with others across the team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics / accounting / Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience in Financial Institutions or corporates.
- Strong analytical ability, focused on the assessment and calibration of credit risk.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English), with proven ability to work across cultures and within a dynamic environment.
- Able to hold credible dialogue at all levels of the organisation, as well as with clients.
- Well organized, able to multi-task and balance competing demands.
