The Course Counsellor is responsible for driving student enrolment by promoting SEGi College Penang’s academic programmes to prospective students and their families. This role requires proactive engagement, effective counselling, and strong sales conversion skills to meet recruitment targets for both full-time and working adult market segments.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Recruitment & Counselling
Provide accurate and professional programme counselling to prospective students and parents.
Match students' interests and qualifications with suitable courses offered by SEGi College.
Guide students through the application and enrolment process.
Sales & Conversion
Achieve individual and team enrolment targets within specified deadlines.
Follow up consistently with leads from walk-ins, referrals, school outreach, events, and digital platforms.
Apply effective closing techniques to convert leads to enrolments.
Lead Management
Respond to all leads promptly via phone, email, WhatsApp, and in-person.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
Track and report weekly performance against KPIs.
Outreach & Engagement
Participate in roadshows, exhibitions, school visits, webinars, and workshops.
Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, agents, and industry partners.
Support in the planning and execution of recruitment campaigns and promotional activities.
Market Intelligence
Gather feedback from students, parents, and agents to understand market needs and competition.
Provide regular input to improve marketing strategies and offerings.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with academic departments, marketing, and operations teams to ensure a smooth student onboarding process.
Support other departments during peak recruitment periods and events.
Key Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Education, or related fields.
At least 1-2 years of experience in student recruitment, sales, or customer service.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage).
Target-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Able to work on weekends, public holidays, and travel for outreach when required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
Additional Advantage:
Experience in education sales or counselling for the working adult segment.
Familiarity with the local higher education landscape and MOHE requirements.
