Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant will collaborate with Finance and Manufacturing teams to ensure accurate and timely product costing, while minimizing costs without compromising customer requirements. Responsibilities include day-to-day accounting, managing multi-currency price lists, costing new products and supporting Sales & Marketing with cost communication. The ideal candidate must demonstrate integrity, attention to detail, strong organizational skills and excellent communication.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage product costing data with quarterly or ad-hoc reviews.
• Develop a dynamic costing model accounting for variables like raw materials, labour and foreign exchange.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing on new product costing and cost optimization.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities on production lines.
• Prepare timely reports for senior management decision-making.
• Handle accounting tasks such as AR, AP, GL, prepayments, accruals and fixed assets.
• Ensure financial record accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
• Support ISO standards, audits and customer/factory assessments.
• Establish cost standards, budgets and resource optimization plans.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Finance, Cost Accountancy (such as CIMA) or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in cost accounting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCount and MyPayroll is an advantage.
• Knowledge of manufacturing accounting and corporate tax is beneficial.
• Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.
• Must own transport and be open to travel.
