Synergy Goldtree Sdn. Bhd. (SGSB) is incorporated in 2014, managed by an experienced team of personnel in civil construction, infrastructure, earthworks, electrical and mechanical works. The Company constructs commercial buildings. We aim to be an industry player on mega projects.

We are now hiring a Contract Manager to lead the contract department team and oversee the contractual aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • To take charge of Pre-Contracts and Post Contracts.
  • To plan, monitor and supervise subordinates for Pre-Contracts and Post Contracts.
  • Responsible for managing, monitoring and contract administration of the project.
  • Manage and coordinate all projects related to contractual matters.
  • To prepare pre-project budget and regularly review and update management on the budgeted cost during implementation of the project to ensure costs are within budget.
  • To work on value engineering and cost saving for particular designs and elements of the projects.
  • To check on work done certificates prepared by contract executives to sub-contractors in accordance with work certified by consultants.
  • To evaluate sub-contractors' bids and analyze costing before recommending job awards to sub-contractors.
  • To prepare and submit interim progress claims and ensure work is certified timely and accurately by the client/main contractor through site valuation.
  • To attend site visits and meetings as required by management.
  • To attend to site measurement, taking off quantities, liaising with consultants and clients, sourcing for quotations, etc.
  • Liaise with consultants on final payment valuation and certificate of making good defects.
  • Develop and implement procedures and policies for the contract department to ensure alignment with the organization’s goals and legal requirements.
  • Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally within the company.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by management.

Requirements:

  • Must possess Degree in Quantity Surveying/Building Construction.
  • At least 10 years working experience in Pre & Post contract administration, preferably with a main contractor.
  • Familiar with Government / JKR Design and Build Projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract law, construction contracts, and industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex contractual issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Required language(s): English, Bahasa, and Mandarin.
  • Independent, resourceful, and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Able to work under tight timelines and able to multi-task.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Applicants must be computer literate.
