The Contract Manager reports to the Head of Process & Governance, under the Group Technology Division. He/she will be involved in all contract reviewing and redrafting within the Group Technology Division, which includes conducting thorough reviews of all contracts, identifying potential risks and areas for improvement, and redrafting contracts particularly focusing on commercial terms (SOW, schedules, payment terms, etc.) to minimize risk and safeguard the Bank’s interests. He/she will also be involved in contract negotiation, collaborating with the team to negotiate terms and conditions with vendors, ensuring optimal outcomes for the Bank. The other key responsibilities are as detailed below:

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Functional (job responsibilities)

• Track new contracts and contract renewals.
• Assist contract owners within Group Technology Division to review the contract content throughout the end-to-end contract management process from preparation to execution and renewal with objectives to minimize risk and protect the Bank’s interests.
• Review and redraft (if required) IT related contract terms and conditions on legal and commercial terms (Statement Of Work, Schedule of Work, Pricing Schedule etc.) to ensure alignment to contract owner’s operational needs and obligations to be imposed on the vendor.
• Assist contract owner, IT Sourcing & Procurement contract team, Project Managers, and Legal to negotiate terms and conditions with vendors.
• Work closely with Legal, Compliance and other relevant teams to ensure relevant regulatory requirements are included in the contract, where required.
• Single point of contact (SPOC) for IT for any matters concerning contracts. Work closely with the IT Sourcing & Procurement contract team, Project Managers, IT Contract Owner (mostly Infrastructure and Security Operations) and Legal.
• Actively involved to solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally.

Jobholder Requirements

Education/Qualification

• Malaysian citizen.
• Any related degree or diploma.

Experience/Requirements

• At least 5 years related experience in IT contract management with reviewing, drafting and negotiating roles, especially for infrastructure and security related contracts. Legal background preferred.
• Well-versed with IT contract template structure, common legal clauses, compliance requirements and common commercial terms including exit strategy etc.
• Knowledgeable about potential risks and benefits of any contract.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, collaborative and negotiation skills.
• Excellence in contract drafting skills.
