Construction Manager

Mission

The World's Largest Sports Retailer is recruiting passionate sports people to Join our Business Development Team as our Construction Manager.

Responsibilities

1. Inspection / execution / review of store/ remodeling project
2. Work jointly with business development director
3. Work with procurement team & legal team
4. Coordinate with finance team
5. To ensure the construction process
6. Clear-cut guidelines and goals with regular interactions and review of status of work
7. Timely decisions critical to business
8. Safety & security international standards respected
9. Ethics and construction chart are 100%
10. Budget compliance
11. Respect of master schedule / material delivery
12. Reporting as per Decathlon standards
13. Coordination and support for technical due diligence before project validation
14. Coordination with expansion manager for soil/pollution/structure study and complete audit on existing store to ensure safety & security standards
15. Technical support on liaising with government agencies for land zoning, building permits and all approvals for Decathlon Stores in Malaysia
16. Ensure the full compliance of store project/remodeling with Malaysian laws
17. Preparation of technical study/ budget / schedule / permits application for project validation in investment committee
18. Compliance according to the technical standards / concepts vs ethics and governance
19. Preparation and validation of permits/ certifications
20. Report / validation of project during the development investment meeting
21. Pre-construction cost survey Malaysia / procurement
22. Regular update on construction cost industry to support company procurement and real estate strategy.
23. Technical specifications support to procurement
24. Participation in technical clarification meetings with procurement
25. Support technically vendors selection before tender
26. Responsible for budget / timelines / safety & security standards / concepts
27. Monthly budget report
28. Closing of budget one month post opening
29. Clarification and validation of additional in investment committee
30. Payment of contractors/suppliers on time
31. Validate the GFC and ensure as-built drawings and certification for store project
32. Issue a debriefing post opening to improve next store opening
33. Ensure environmental respect during construction
34. Store handover as per Decathlon standards including achieving
35. Internal coordination with finance
36. Follow up and update of project construction budget according to Decathlon tools and governance

Profile

To Be Successful In This Role

1. You are fluent in English and Bahasa (Oral & Written)
2. You have a Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree in Civil/M&E/Structure Engineering or equivalent
3. We require a minimum of 3-4 years of construction experience (retail preferred)
4. Mobile (traveling required)
5. Experience in construction, tender, project management on larger store, shopping mall/residential/real estate development
6. Experience in project conceiving, planning
7. Experience in asset management remodeling, extension
8. Green building certification
9. Budget/quantity survey/architecture layout (basics on AutoCAD required)
10. Strong communication skills and a curious thinker
