Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Contract Development: Work closely with the Engineering department to identify contractual needs, develop contract templates, and create terms and conditions that align with the organization’s goals and legal requirements.
  2. Negotiation: Negotiate with external parties, such as vendors, suppliers, or clients, to establish mutually agreeable terms and conditions while maintaining positive relationships.
  3. Contract Review: Carefully review contract documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal regulations, including analyzing contractual obligations, terms of payment, deliverables, and associated risks.
  4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and assess potential risks and liabilities within contracts, collaborating with legal and compliance teams to minimize risks and include appropriate clauses.
  5. Contract Execution: Oversee the execution process, ensuring that all parties fulfill their obligations as outlined in the agreement. Track deadlines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure timely performance.
  6. Contract Administration: Maintain contract documentation and databases, tracking contract expiration dates, renewals, and amendments, and handling any contract-related inquiries or disputes.
  7. Relationship Management: Foster positive relationships with stakeholders involved in the contract process, such as clients, vendors, legal teams, and internal departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  8. Compliance and Legal Awareness: Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure contracts are compliant, working closely with legal advisors to address any legal concerns.
  9. Performance Evaluation: Conduct periodic evaluations to assess contract performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive value optimization.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of requests for proposals, bid documents, and tender notices for the procurement of works, goods, and services.
  • Monitoring the tendering processes for the organization.
  • Evaluation of bids and proposals from bidders and contractors.
  • Contract negotiation and preparation.
  • Ensure contracts are executed per corporate guidelines.
  • Oversee changes in scope and modify contracts accordingly.
  • Assessment and analysis of risks, implementing risk mitigation measures.
  • Visit client sites and meet with business partners.
  • Prepare progress reports for various stakeholders.
  • Successfully close contracts and issue completion certificates to contractors.
  • Record lessons learned and suggest future modifications to existing policies.
  • Dispute resolution and representation in arbitrations and court cases.
  • Impart training to other contract management professionals.
