The Opportunity

Direct Lending’s mission is to bridge the credit gap and enable every hardworking Malaysian to access safe, affordable, and fast financing.

We’re looking for a Collection Team Lead to join our fast-growing team. You will lead a team of 3 executives, work closely with management to set the collection strategy, determine and monitor KPIs, and roll up your sleeves to drive hands-on collection results. You’ll be working closely with the CEO and have a clear career path into management or credit, depending on your growth ambitions.

What Will You Be Doing?

1. Lead & Manage: Supervise and guide a team of 3 collection executives to meet individual and team KPIs.
2. Process & Strategy: Formulate and improve collection workflows, scripts, and escalation procedures to drive repayment efficiency and customer experience.
3. Hands-On Collections: Contact, negotiate, and follow up with customers for repayments, settlements, or structured payment plans—especially on more complex or escalated accounts.
4. Reporting & Insights: Track team performance, prepare weekly/monthly reports, and provide recommendations to improve recovery rates and reduce overdue cases.
5. Customer Experience: Ensure all customer interactions are handled in a professional, empathetic, and respectful manner—aligned with Direct Lending’s mission of financial inclusion.
6. Continuous Improvement: Identify patterns and challenges in collection and propose solutions to enhance team performance and business growth.

Are You the One?

Minimum 3 years of experience in collections, preferably in personal financing, easy payment schemes, or business financing.

Experience leading or mentoring a team.

Strong communicator and negotiator—able to handle tough conversations with empathy and firmness.

Results-oriented, motivated by targets, and always looking for ways to improve.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and persistent in follow-ups.

Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Passionate about helping customers and making a positive impact through responsible lending.
