Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

1. Support business operations on their areas by improving or performing systems configurations or by developing new features of cobol/mainframe applications.
2. Ensure the performance, quality and responsiveness of applications by monitoring, analyzing and reports root cause of system/ production disruption and include recommendations to prevent the reoccurrence of glitches, defects & bugs.
3. Help to maintain/improve code quality as well as automation especially on the testing area.
4. Analyze within their IT lines the current technology trends and look for opportunities to design new technology solutions that would maximize the company's productivity and improve business operations.
5. Enrich procedures & documentation of deliverables. Keep documentation and processes around production support as well development cycle up to date and at his best possible efficiency.

Required Skills:

1. Proven experience as a COBOL Developer or similar role.
2. Understanding of mainframe technologies and environments (Batch processes versus Online).
3. Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2 as well as TSO.
4. Understanding of legacy system modernization techniques.
5. RTC tool understanding (IBM) is a nice to have.
6. Knowledge in SQL.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team and with business teams.

Work Experience:

• 6 years of experience working as a developer (Methodologies: Waterfall & Agile are accepted).
• Good understanding of development processes associated (testing, code quality, design).
• First experience as a technical leader in a project.
