Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clerk of Works / Inspector of Works (Civil & Structural) to join our team in Alor Gajah, Melaka. This role is ideal for candidates with a civil engineering background who are passionate about construction quality and compliance. You will play a crucial role in ensuring construction works are executed according to approved plans, regulations, and high-quality standards while working closely with consultants and contractors to oversee site progress and resolve issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Coordination & Communication: Work closely with consultants and contractors to review plans, resolve site issues, and ensure smooth project execution.
• Project Monitoring: Track construction progress, identify potential delays, and provide recommendations to keep projects on schedule.
• Inspection of Materials & Workmanship: Ensure that materials used meet project requirements and that construction works are completed to the highest standards.
• Site Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project progress, site instructions, manpower, weather conditions, and any non-compliance issues.
• Meeting Participation: Attend and contribute to site meetings, technical discussions, consultant and subcontractor coordination sessions.
• Problem-Solving & Risk Management: Identify construction challenges and provide practical solutions to minimize project risks and inefficiencies.

What We’re Looking For:

• Contract Position: Available for an immediate start.
• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering (preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years in the construction industry, particularly in commercial and/or industrial buildings.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, specifications, and work sequences.
• Preferably registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as an Inspector of Works (Civil).
• Ability to interpret infrastructure and structural construction drawings and recommend solutions to construction issues.
• Experience in liaising with consultants and contractors to ensure project efficiency.
• Must be capable of conducting on-site inspections under various conditions.
• Must have own transport and be willing to travel to the site in Alor Gajah, Melaka.
