About the role

ASTAR Steel Sdn Bhd, a leading steel manufacturing company, is seeking a talented and driven Design Engineer / Civil Engineer / Structural Engineer to join our team in Senai, Johor. As a key member of our civil and structural engineering division, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of innovative steel products and solutions that support the growth and success of our business.

What you'll be doing

1. Designing and developing engineering plans, drawings, and specifications for a variety of steel structures and components.
2. Conducting structural analyses, stress calculations, and material selection to ensure the safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our products.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and project management, to ensure the successful implementation of engineering solutions.
4. Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve our engineering processes and outputs.
5. Providing technical support and guidance to our sales and customer service teams to help them effectively communicate the value of our products to clients.

What we're looking for

1. A bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
2. At least 2 years of relevant experience in steel design, preferably in the manufacturing or construction industry.
3. Proficient in the use of engineering software, such as AutoCAD, PROCAD, and structural analysis tools.
4. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve complex engineering challenges.
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
6. Up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering codes, regulations, and industry standards.
