RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES:

The Chief Sales Officer is a key executive responsible for leading the company’s sales strategy, driving sustainable revenue growth, and enhancing the overall customer experience across its memorial park operations in Johor and Ipoh. The CSO will oversee sales planning, execution, territory development, customer engagement, and credit and collection management to support the company’s long-term business objectives and financial performance.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the CEO, C-suite, and key functional departments to align sales initiatives with corporate strategy, build high-performing sales teams, and strengthen market presence. This role requires strong commercial acumen, field leadership, and a customer-centric mindset to deliver consistent business growth.

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue, market expansion, and competitive advantage.
  2. Analyze market trends to identify growth opportunities and formulate tactical plans that maximize sales performance.
  3. Set aggressive sales targets, performance benchmarks, and compensation structures to incentivize and reward success.
  4. Optimize territory planning, channel segmentation, and resource allocation for maximum impact.
  5. Collaborate with marketing, finance, and product teams to support product launches, campaigns, and go-to-market initiatives.
  6. Lead sales promotions, loyalty programs, and other targeted campaigns to boost customer acquisition and retention.
  7. Track campaign ROI, analyze performance data, and iterate sales strategies based on real-time insights.
  8. Manage the entire sales funnel from lead generation to closure and post-sale engagement.
  9. Ensure a seamless and consistent customer experience by integrating sales, campaign, and service touchpoints.
  10. Drive customer-centric initiatives to improve satisfaction, loyalty, and brand perception.

Collection & Credit Management

  1. Oversee the development and refinement of collection strategies to minimize bad debt and optimize cash flow.
  2. Collaborate with the finance team on credit policies, installment schemes, and receivables management.
  3. Implement KPIs to monitor collection effectiveness and introduce corrective actions when needed.

Leadership and Team Development:

  1. Build, develop, and retain a high-performing sales and marketing team.
  2. Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and customer focus.
  3. Launch training and capability-building programs to upskill teams and promote continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION LEVEL & MAJOR

Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales or related field. An MBA or other relevant degree is preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

5-10 years of progressive experience in sales, marketing or a senior management role within an organization.

REQUIRED LANGUAGE

Good command of English, Malay and Chinese dialects.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  1. Proven track record in sales leadership, revenue growth, and digital marketing strategies.
  2. Strong understanding of sales operations, customer service frameworks, and credit/collection systems.
  3. Excellent leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  4. Strong expertise in digital marketing, sales, and lead generation.
  5. Data driven decision making with proficiency in analytics and market research.
  6. Ability to develop high impact marketing campaigns and brand positioning strategies.
