The incumbent will be providing the drive and leadership on the development and execution of the strategies of the Company including all the branches in Malaysia. Besides being accountable for the business performance and driving the business performance in a sustainable and profitable way, the incumbent is also expected to foster closer coordination within the various functions to achieve cohesiveness, synergy and operational excellence.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- To lead and develop the Company in conjunction with the direction of the Group’s strategy for continuous and sustainable business growth; Initiate, execute and oversee the implementation of short, mid and long-term strategies to achieve business goals and financial targets;
- Responsible for the achievement of the sales and financial targets of the Company via assertive and forward-looking business strategies to acquire and develop new customers and growth;
- Partner with current and new customers to drive Value Transformation by understanding their needs and challenges and develop value adding marketing strategies that meet their requirements and positively impact business growth in the region; ensure effective strategic servicing, structured pricing methodology and efficient training of resources to achieve service excellence;
- Develop a strong marketing culture in the DIC Malaysia with a focus on strategic thinking, market competitiveness, product benchmarking against competitors, portfolio management, customer analysis etc.;
- Strengthen the sales and marketing team in terms of technical knowledge, strategic marketing, sales techniques, communication and motivation. Implement continuous sales performance evaluations and improvements, to ensure a high level of customer’s satisfaction and retention;
- Provide leadership to the manufacturing and office facilities and work with Regional Functional Leaders to implement changes to achieve synergy and efficiency across all the functions;
- Establish and monitor the performance of the business operations against standards and targets in areas such as manufacturing efficiency, cost control, sales revenue, legal compliance and human resource management;
- Inspire operational excellence among all operating functions to ensure customers’ needs are achieved at a minimal cost level;
- Accountable for the leadership development of the key management team; cultivate the needed leadership skills and functional competencies to effectively perform in their assigned roles;
- Build a sustainable and effective organization structure filled with talented resources and drive effective succession plans for all management members and their next level of reporting managers;
- Ensure the internal controls are established in accordance to DIC’s requirements and are both effective and working to protect the interest of the Group and mitigate business risks.
COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENT
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent;
- Minimum 20 years of relevant experience and with experience as the Head of an organization with company-wide responsibilities in a manufacturing environment;
- Excellent knowledge in the principles of leadership and business management;
- Sound working knowledge of Printing Inks and/or Chemical business;
- Good knowledge in key functions such as Sales & Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations Management and Human Resource Management;
- Self-motivated and possess a strong drive to be challenged and to achieve with a strong willingness to learn;
- Assertive, proactive, results oriented and has the ability to identify opportunities for positive changes;
- Excellent people management, influencing and negotiation skills;
- Good command of English language in communication and presentation to the stakeholders.
