The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a vital C-suite leader responsible for managing the daily operations of hospital support services, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with strategic goals, while leading the Operations Department, optimizing service workflows, and collaborating with stakeholders to maintain high-quality standards in a healthcare-focused environment.


Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer with the following key responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and execute operational strategies that align with the organization’s mission to deliver exceptional hospital support services, driving measurable success through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Direct all aspects of hospital support services, including facility maintenance, equipment reliability, and environmental management, ensuring seamless operations that enhance hospital efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols, fostering a risk-free environment for all related parties and facilities through proactive initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end vendor and supply chain operations, negotiating high-value contracts and optimizing procurement to guarantee timely, cost-effective delivery of resources critical to hospital functionality.
  • Develop and manage a robust operational budget, leveraging financial acumen to balance cost efficiency with service quality, while delivering detailed annual proposals to secure resources for growth.
  • Innovate and refine service workflows, implementing best practices to maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and elevate the quality of support provided to healthcare facilities.
  • Lead, mentor, and empower a diverse Operations team, cultivating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development to meet departmental goals.
  • Spearhead the adoption of cutting-edge tools and technology to enhance service reliability, streamline processes, and position the organization as an industry leader.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to uncover opportunities for improvement, delivering actionable recommendations that boost performance and profitability.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with hospital directors and administrators, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders, aligning operations with client needs and advancing the company’s reputation in the healthcare sector.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, developing and implementing robust action plans to address findings, ensuring continuous improvement and operational integrity.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives (e.g., energy efficiency, waste reduction) within hospital operations, integrating innovative practices that enhance environmental responsibility and long-term value.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Strategic vision to align operational plans with healthcare support objectives.
  • Strong understanding of hospital facility operations, regulatory requirements, and service quality standards.
  • Financial expertise to manage budgets, optimize resources, and improve cost-effectiveness.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to inspire teams and engage stakeholders.
  • Analytical ability to assess service data, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements and drive decision making.
  • Dedication to safety, client satisfaction, operational excellence and sustainability program.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Healthcare Management, or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within hospital support services, facilities management, or a similar industry.
  • Proven track record of managing budgets, vendor contracts, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on meeting service deadlines and client expectations.
  • The role requires regular visits to hospital sites for client engagement.
