Position: Chief Operating Officer

Salary Up To RM18000

Location: Kuala Lumpur

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will lead all commercial and operational aspects of the business. You will provide leadership and strategic vision to the organisation, bringing operational, managerial, and administrative procedures, reporting structures, and operational controls to the company. This is a vital role that will drive results, spur growth, and increase the overall efficiency of the organisation.

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the entire business, identifying areas of shortcomings and taking remedial action for process improvement.

Job Descriptions:

  • Work closely with the senior management team to implement business strategies and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, and company policies, designed to foster growth, profitability, and efficiencies in alignment with the group's vision and mission.
  • Assist the CEO in maintaining a competitive position within the industry and anticipate key trends and risks in the market.
  • Partner with CFO to achieve favorable financial results concerning sales, profitability, cash flow, mergers and acquisitions, systems, reporting and controls, and budgeting and accounts.
  • Monitor and review financial/accounting performance & processes, suggesting improvements in compliance with accounting standards, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee human resource operations including recruitment, training & development, staff engagement, compensation & benefits, and internal policies.
  • Manage administrative services, including facilities management, office administration & maintenance, and purchasing & procurement.
  • Oversee customer service & call center operations, risk management processes, and quality assurance (i.e., SOPs planning, documenting, and approval).
  • Lead IT functions such as digital strategies and new IT projects to enhance productivity & efficiency and improve customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements while implementing decisions of the Board of Directors.
  • Enhance the operational team with the leadership and resources needed to complete operations objectives.
  • Review the competitiveness of the group's products and services.
  • Measure and report key metrics and performance of the Heads of Departments and develop action plans to achieve goals.
  • Set challenging and realistic goals for growth, performance, and profitability.
  • Forge strategic partnerships and relationships with clients, vendors, banks, investors, and other professional business relationships.
  • Cultivate a growth-oriented culture that stresses ethical practices and fosters a positive environment while keeping employees accountable to company policies.
  • Maintain a positive and ethical work climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top-quality employees at all levels.
  • Ensure an effective succession plan is in place for the role and other key executives.
  • Perform other functions related to the office of the COO or as requested by the MD/CEO or the Board.

Requirements:

  • 6 to 10 years of executive-level operational experience required.
  • 5 years of proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related fields; professional qualification or equivalent.
  • MBA from a top business school preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with excellent budgetary, forecasting, and future planning skills.
  • Substantial general management experience; an expert in leading sizeable teams within a fast-paced, ethically oriented environment.
  • A commercially astute, highly strategic leader with a strong focus on the customer.
  • Experience in managing a substantial growth program and a strong project management mindset.
  • Sharp intellect and well-developed analytical and critical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and weaknesses promptly and implement action plans.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, development, and change management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a willingness to lead from the front.
  • Higher levels of drive, energy, and resilience.
