1. Position Details

  • Position: Chief of Technical Officer
  • Job Level: CTO
  • Reports to: Group CEO
  • Direct Reports: As required

2. Work Location

  • Headquarters: Located in Central, Hong Kong Island. The company’s subsidiaries are in capitals such as Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Taichung, Manila, etc. The role requires adaptability to business travel.

3. Job Responsibilities

  • Technology Strategy and Vision: Develop and implement the company’s technology vision and strategy. Keep up with industry trends and ensure the company leverages emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage the technology team, including developers, engineers, and IT professionals. Mentor and guide technical staff, fostering innovation and professional growth.
  • Product Development: Oversee the development and implementation of new products or technical services. Ensure that products are developed with high quality, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Infrastructure and Architecture: Ensure the company’s technology infrastructure is scalable, secure, and reliable. Oversee the architecture and design of systems that support company goals and operations.
  • Innovation and Research: Encourage innovation within the technology teams. Evaluate and adopt new technologies that can improve business operations or product offerings.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with other executives (e.g., CEO, CFO, CMO) to align technological goals with broader business objectives. Collaborate with the marketing, sales, and customer service teams to ensure technology solutions meet customer needs.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Manage the technology department’s budget. Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal productivity and return on investment.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure all technology solutions comply with industry standards, regulations, and security protocols. Implement and oversee data security practices to protect both the company’s and customers’ sensitive data.
  • Medium- and Long-Term Strategic Goals: Participate in the formulation of the company’s medium- and long-term strategic goals, and organize their implementation.

4. Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is typically required; Master’s degree (optional but preferred), particularly in technology management, business administration (MBA), or engineering.
  • Experience: Extensive technical experience (usually 10+ years) in software engineering, IT infrastructure, product development, or a related area; Proven leadership experience, having managed technical teams or large-scale projects.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Familiar with Software Development, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Data Management, Agile/Scrum Methodologies, DevOps, AI/ML.
  • Abilities: Able to adapt to frequent cross-regional business trips, including Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Taichung, Manila, and other places.
  • Languages: Fluent in Chinese and English, strong language organization skills.
  • Experience in Culture Building: Experience in corporate culture development and transformation, and familiarity with optimizing a federal organizational structure.
  • Flexibility: Outstanding candidates may be considered with more flexible requirements.
