Supervise and manage the laboratory's day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and accurate testing and analysis of materials, samples, and data related to the project.
Supervise and train lab technicians, ensuring they follow procedures and safety rules.
Conduct and oversee various tests (such as soil, concrete, water, or environmental samples) in compliance with industry standards, ensuring quality and safety regulations are met.
Ensure lab equipment is working properly and arrange for repairs if needed.
Maintain detailed records of tests, results, and procedures. Prepare technical reports and contribute to the creation of documentation that supports project timelines, budgets, and compliance.
Follow safety and quality standards in all lab work.
Work with other project teams (engineering, construction, etc.) to share lab results and offer advice.
Assist in managing the laboratory budget, including procurement of consumables and laboratory supplies.
Stay updated with new techniques, methods, and equipment, continuously improving laboratory procedures and operations to support the project’s success.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Technology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience in a laboratory management role, preferably in a construction, infrastructure, or environmental project.
Strong knowledge of laboratory testing methods, equipment, and software used in construction and engineering industries.
Proven ability to manage and lead a team of technicians, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to perform accurate, high-quality work and manage complex technical tasks under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with testing materials specific to road construction, soil quality, concrete, and environmental impact assessments.
