Chief Information Officer, Kuala Lumpur

Our prestigious client is a Global MNC looking for an exceptionalCIO to lead and manage the IT strategy and infrastructure for this significant corporate organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Developing and Executing IT Strategy in Regional Clusters
  • Formulate and implement IT strategies that align with regional goals and business objectives, focusing on technology adoption, innovation, and growth opportunities.
  • Leading Deployment of Global Tools and Fostering Regional Collaboration
    • Guide the deployment of global IT tools and promote synergy across countries by building a collaborative IT community. Facilitate knowledge sharing, best practices, and collective problem-solving.
  • Supporting Business Growth and Representing IT in Client Engagements
    • Act as a bridge for IT Enterprise Architecture (EA) in customer interactions, handling responsibilities such as RFI/RFP processes, onboarding, and Mergers & Acquisitions.
  • Overseeing Regional IT Operations
    • Manage all aspects of IT within the designated region, including recruitment, budgeting, cost modeling, planning, and reporting to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitoring IT Performance
    • Regularly assess IT performance at global, regional, and local levels, evaluating benefits, cost savings, and overall effectiveness.
  • Standardizing IT Processes Across Expansion Countries
    • Ensure consistent IT delivery across expansion countries by harmonizing processes according to guidelines from the software development and excellence teams, promoting scalability and operational efficiency.
  • Aligning Regional and Global IT Decisions with Group Strategy
    • Make decisions that balance regional needs with the broader organizational strategy, ensuring alignment with the groups overall vision.

    • Demonstrated leadership abilities, impactful communication, empathy, and team management skills to lead technical experts and collaborate effectively with regional executives. Commitment to continuous improvement and knowledge retention is essential.
  • Cultural and Regional Sensitivity
    • Ability to work within a multicultural environment, adapting to diverse cultural norms.
  • Pre-Sales and Sales in IT
    • Strong communication and engagement skills for client and prospect interactions.
  • IT Operations Management
    • Oversee regional IT operations, including budgeting, planning, project management, system maintenance, and collaboration with global and local teams.
  • Strategic Alignment
    • Collaborate closely with global teams to ensure the regional IT strategy supports the overall company vision.

    Essential Requirements

    The ideal candidate must possess the ability to lead change initiatives, drive transformation, and act as a strategic Business Partner to ensure the successful deployment of technology that supports business operations and expansion efforts.

    Frequent travel is a key aspect of this role, requiring the candidate to be available for travel 60% or more of the time.
