Company Background:
Our client is a Malaysian listed manufacturing company located in Melaka, supplying to various industries in the Asia Pacific region. Currently, they are looking for a Chief Financial Officer to be based in Melaka plant.
Overall Job Purpose:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring financial health, compliance with Bursa Malaysia regulations, and driving financial strategies to enhance shareholder value.
The CFO provides leadership in financial planning, risk management, corporate governance, investor relations, and operational efficiency in a competitive manufacturing industry.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Ensure cost efficiency and operational financial effectiveness.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage and oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Bursa Malaysia, Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), and Securities Commission guidelines.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and performance analysis for stakeholders.
- Monitor key financial metrics and drive continuous improvement in financial performance.
Compliance, Corporate Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Bursa Malaysia listing requirements, Securities Commission Malaysia, Bank Negara regulations, and other statutory bodies.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure transparency.
- Develop and monitor risk management frameworks to mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, legal consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Treasury, Cash Flow & Investment Management
- Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow management, banking relationships, and investment planning.
- Optimize working capital management, including receivables, payables, and inventory financing.
- Develop capital allocation strategies, including debt and equity financing, for business growth.
Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management
- Manage investor relations and ensure effective communication with shareholders, analysts, and financial institutions.
- Prepare Bursa Malaysia announcements, financial disclosures, and corporate presentations.
- Engage with the Board of Directors and Executive Committee on financial performance and strategy.
Cost Control & Operational Efficiency
- Implement financial controls to improve efficiency and reduce costs in cable manufacturing operations.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives and drive productivity improvements in production and supply chain.
- Support pricing strategies and cost analysis for raw materials (e.g., copper, aluminium).
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance and continuous professional development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and excellence in financial management.
- Collaborate with other departments (Production, Sales, Operations) for business success.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. Chartered Accountant (CA)/ MIA / ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a CFO or senior financial leadership role in a manufacturing or listed company.
- Strong understanding of Bursa Malaysia listing requirements, MFRS, and corporate governance.
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and financial acumen.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, treasury, tax, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work with stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and government agencies.
- Proficient in financial software (SAP, ERP, Oracle) and data analytics.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to work in Melaka.
