Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a critical role in ensuring financial health, sustainability, and compliance while supporting its mission as Malaysia’s leading advocate for property developers. The CFO will oversee financial strategy, risk management, reporting, and resource allocation to strengthen role in nation-building and sustainable property development. This role requires strong financial leadership, strategic insight, and collaboration with key stakeholders, including government agencies and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the advocacy, operations, and long-term sustainability.
  • Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to the Treasurer and Exco.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting, including budget performance, financial statements, and cash flow management.
  • Strengthen internal financial controls, governance, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Provide financial analysis to support the policy recommendations and initiatives.
  • Identify and manage financial risks affecting and its advocacy efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and financial governance standards.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Investment & Resource Management:

  • Optimize fund management, grants, and membership contributions to enhance financial sustainability.
  • Drive cost efficiency and resource optimization while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Oversee financial aspects of the projects, research, and industry events.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Lead and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with the advocacy and industry objectives.
  • Engage with government agencies, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders to enhance financial positioning.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (ACCA or CPA preferred, MIA certification required).
  • 5-8 years of experience in senior financial accounting and management roles within companies, trade associations, or property-related sectors.
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, analysis, risk management, and compliance.
  • Experience with ERP systems, financial modeling, and forecasting tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Advantage added :

  • Experience in NGO financial management, or policy-related financial planning.
  • Familiarity with using SQL would be useful.
