About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our dynamic team at Jumbo Grocer (Sibu) Sdn Bhd, a leading supermarket chain based in Sibu, Sarawak. As our CFO, you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial strategy and performance of our growing business. This is a full-time position located in Sibu.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team to support key business decisions
• Manage the accounting, tax, and treasury functions to ensure compliance and optimize financial performance
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial strategies with the overall business objectives
• Analyse financial data to provide actionable insights and recommendations
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records and reporting

What we're looking for

• Qualified accountant with 8+ years of progressive experience in a senior finance or CFO role, preferably in the retail or FMCG industry
• Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements
• Proficient in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing finance teams
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
• Commitment to continuous improvement and a strategic, forward-thinking mindset
