Job description

1. Financial Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Lead the preparation of long-term financial plans and annual budgeting processes.
  • Regularly review and assess financial performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals, adjusting forecasts as needed.

2. Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Oversee the preparation of all financial reports, ensuring compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Present accurate and timely financial reports to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and resolve audit issues efficiently.

3. Human Resources Management:

  • Oversee HR operations, including recruitment, compensation, benefits administration, performance management, and employee development.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with labour laws and support the organization’s goals.
  • Work closely with HR leadership to address workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning needs.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and positive work environment.

4. Treasury and Cash Flow Management:

  • Manage the company’s treasury function, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Oversee cash flow management, investment strategies, and borrowing arrangements.
  • Maintain banking relationships and negotiate credit facilities as necessary.

5. Risk Management and Internal Controls:

  • Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets and ensure operational compliance.
  • Identify financial and operational risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance requirements and provide adequate coverage for both financial and employee-related risks.

6. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and oversee the preparation of financial forecasts.
  • Ensure budgetary compliance across all departments and work with department heads to monitor budget performance.
  • Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and revenue enhancements.

7. Business Partnering:

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Executive Director and senior leadership team, providing insights into financial and human resources decisions.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align financial and HR strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Lead business performance improvement initiatives, including margin optimization and cost management.

8. Capital Management and Investment Decisions:

  • Oversee the evaluation and management of capital expenditures to ensure the efficient allocation of resources.
  • Assess and recommend mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures as necessary.
  • Communicate with investors and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency in financial performance and strategy.

9. Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary financial representative to the Board of Directors, executive team, and external stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on financial performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and HR-related service providers.

10. Human Resources Reporting and Metrics:

  • Provide regular updates on HR metrics, including headcount, employee turnover, recruitment progress, employee satisfaction, and compliance with labour regulations.
  • Ensure that HR reports align with organizational objectives and support workforce planning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Chinese, English, and Malay.
  • Must possess certification from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
  • Proven track experience of working with public listed companies.
  • Candidates with prior experience in managing Initial Public Offering (IPO) processes.
