Job description

Provide guidance to the GCOO on business development and operational strategies for the company.

Develop and execute the company's vision, mission, and long-term strategic goals to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry.

Provide guidance, support, and leadership to the business division/department in developing the company's business.

Identify growth opportunities, such as market expansion, service diversification, and technological innovation.

Spearhead initiatives to adopt and integrate new technologies and cloud services, ensuring the company stays at the forefront of the industry.

Ensure compliance with legal guidelines and in-house policies to uphold the company’s legality and business ethics.

Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure the achievement of desired results and company KPIs.

Build and lead an effective and competent management team.

Maintain a sustainable safety culture within the organization.

Evaluate risks and opportunities for the company while ensuring that sufficient business is secured to achieve targeted revenue, profitability, and market coverage.

Establish strategic goals and directions for the company, ensuring they are both measurable and clearly defined.

Report to the GCOO on overall company performance and development, referencing the respective KPIs of each Head of Department (HOD).

Oversee the company's financial activities, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.

Ensure that all legal and regulatory documents are filed appropriately and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.

Ensure that the organization’s leadership remains consistently informed about the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customer base, markets, new industry developments, and standards.

Accountable for ensuring that the business operates profitably and meets its goals.

Capable of identifying and pursuing new opportunities, including delegating tasks or directing agendas to drive profitability through effective management of organizational structure.

Ensure that the company upholds high standards of social responsibility in all its business activities.

Evaluate risks to the company and ensure they are monitored and minimized.

Identify key internal and external stakeholders essential for business success and develop a comprehensive strategy for executing high-value projects and programs.

Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders to champion project(s) across the entire organization.

Collaborate with clients in the communications industry to deliver innovative and transformative programs, focusing on Consumer and Enterprise Revenue Growth, Network Expansion, Cost Transformation, and the application of Digital and Cloud technologies, including 5G and Edge services.

Generate business outcomes for large Communications Providers by transforming complex concepts into clear, understandable messaging and materials, and develop scalable mechanisms for managing our work effectively.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.

At least 15 years of relevant experience in the telecommunications field in senior management roles, with a proven track record of high performance, shaping strategies, and delivering complex, impactful client engagements in prominent leadership positions.

Experience in leading digital transformation initiatives, including the adoption of new technologies, enhancing digital customer engagement, and implementing process automation.

A deep understanding of telecommunications technologies, including wireless communications, network infrastructure, and digital services, is essential.

Previous experience in leveraging visualization and analytics tools to drive insights.

Knowledge of risk management philosophies, policies, and practices based on ISO 31000.

Proficiency in financial management and broader management principles and techniques.

Business-oriented, competitive, and profit-driven, with experience in Profit and Loss (P&L) management and relevant technical knowledge, capable of motivating a team toward a common goal.

Knowledge of human resources and personnel management.

Comprehensive knowledge of telecommunications regulations in Malaysia, including licensing, spectrum management, and data protection laws.

Focused on results with strong organizational skills and professional expertise.

Demonstrates personal drive, integrity, and a proactive approach, with resilience and the ability to handle stress effectively.

Exceptional management skills coupled with excellent communication abilities.

Creative and capable of seeing beyond the obvious.

Proven success in driving business progress quickly and effectively.
