Located in Mont’ Kiara, an affluent suburb located five kilometers from downtown Kuala Lumpur, the hotel features approximately 298 guestrooms, a three-meal restaurant, 3,100 square feet of meeting space, a fitness centre, and a sky pool. Position Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to lead and be responsible for the Engineering and Safety & Security department. This position reports to the hotel General Manager. We are looking for a person who will embrace this property and care for it so that it will be at its best at all times.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead a team and maintain all equipment, systems, and building components including mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile, and information technology.
2. Act as the liaison between facility and service contractors for on-property needs.
3. Maintain all equipment in guest rooms, conduct monthly safety inspections, and train staff on safety and emergency procedures.
4. Respond to emergencies and work with corporate maintenance on special remodeling projects or capital expenditure needs.
5. Handle unexpected emergencies and property malfunctions that affect guests and/or associates.

Qualifications

1. Demonstrate a passion and proven results for coaching and leading hotel team members to achieve team success.
2. Ability to use a building management system for efficient hotel operations.
3. Preferred previous hotel experience with properties or serviced residences that have over 230 rooms.
4. Significant added advantage if previous hotel pre-opening experience in engineering and building operations is held.
5. Possess a Degree or Diploma in Engineering studies or technical disciplines.
6. A minimum of 5 years or more work experience in a senior role within an international chain hotel engineering department.
7. Ability to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds.
8. Fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to converse in other languages is an added advantage.
9. Demonstrate ability to manage and lead hotel on-site engineering functions.
10. Thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment, plumbing and electrical systems, and relevant building codes.
11. Experience in hotel security systems and leading security personnel is an additional advantage.
