Chief Accountant (Ipoh, Perak)

Based in Head Office Ipoh, Perak.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead accounting division and oversee day to day accounting and financial operations for Plantation section.
2. Manage the team in preparation and finalization financial statements; monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts; monthly cash flow forecast, costing, annual budget and estimates, including meeting datelines.
3. Develop financial strategy and manage financial results with respect to sales, profitability, cash flow, mergers and acquisitions, systems, reporting and controls.
4. Implement and ensure accuracy and in compliance with internal and statutory financial and accounting standard and procedures.
5. Improve financial and accounting processes, and providing strategic financial insights and recommendation to support the company's goals.
6. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
7. Provide guidance and training to Operating Centres on accounting matters.
8. Liaise with auditors in related to accounts and finance related matter and ensure audit compliance.
9. Provide advice to management pertaining to all accounting and financial related issues.
10. Any ad-hoc task related to accounts/ finance as assigned by management.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/ Finance or equivalent from recognized Universities.
2. Minimum 10 years of working experience in related field, preferably at least 5 years with a professional accounting firm/ big four audit firms/ MNC.
3. Must be a Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) member and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification.
4. Knowledge in plantation and refineries operations will be an added advantage.
5. In-depth knowledge of compliance requirements of MFRS / IFRS / PSAK.
6. Knowledge in SAP will be an added advantage.
7. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
8. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
9. Willing to travel locally and overseas.
