Job description

The primary purpose of Channel Marketing Analyst (CMA) is to support the development & management of projects and initiative implementation for clients’ projects.

Role Purpose & Responsibility:

The Channel Marketing Analyst (CMA) is responsible for the execution of Channel Strategy development & assisting in the development of curated strategy for clients. Through targeted gathering of data & information, the CMA will help build deep channel expertise and distil superior channel insights, which will be further refined to create “Value Propositions & Operator Business Solutions” for each client. The CMA will at times work with clients’ key partnering teams (i.e. Sales, Category, R&D, Planning, etc) to support the development compelling selling stories & associated selling tools to help to effectively communicate the solutions technical, product & service benefits and the growth of our client’s business.

Much of the challenge for this role is the degree of organisational agility, the required understanding of each client’s business model and their operational intricacies in their role of Channel Marketing Analyst. This agility requires strong organization & coordination skills, with high level of ownership, plus attention to detail in managing assigned projects. The position reports to the Channel Development Specialist with dotted collaboration line to higher management of the company.

Assist in Developing Curated Channel Strategy for Clients:

  1. Assist Channel Development Manager & Director to curate winning channel strategy for clients.
  2. Assist in driving the creation of Deep Channel Expertise (DCE) for client’s business focused on consumer, shopper & operator needs, market insights, and business drivers, to develop a strong connection between client with their customers for various industries, predominantly in the Foodservice sector.
  3. Be responsible for completion of assigned research project relating markets, consumers, diners/shoppers & operators/chains.

Assist in Building Compelling Selling Stories & Associated Selling Tools:

  1. Assist in curating business solutions and selling tools to drive client’s customer engagement through development of compelling selling stories that has purpose to win.
  2. Through data collection/mapping/analysis develop credible insights & tangible value propositions.
  3. Support through both digital/online mediums & one to one coaching the transfer of knowledge sharing & best practice execution within company’s client.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with personnel in client’s business – including Senior Executive, Marketing, Category, Sales, Operations and R&D.

Required Skillset & Experience:

  1. Tertiary qualification in a business discipline or equivalent industry experience.

Education (Preferred):

  1. Qualification or business level experience.

Experience (Essential):

  1. Good understanding on marketing; Good influencing & interpersonal skills; Functional team skills, able to work effectively in fast moving cross functional teams; Adaptability – able to cope with change, think on their feet & bring clarity where ambiguity exists; Creative thinking capability to develop value propositions; Organisation and prioritization skills – able to plan and self-organize; Fresh Graduates with an energy/willingness to learn are encouraged to apply despite the likelihood of lacking hands-on experience.

Experience (Preferred):

  1. Brand or Channel marketing; Experience in high pressure fast paced organizations (consultancy, Private Equity, Start Ups, etc); Structured approach to presentation; Leadership potential - hungry for leadership, a willingness to take on new & challenging tasks; Restaurant, Bakery, F&B industry or FMCG Retailing or Energy Sector experience.

Technical/ Functional Expertise (Essential):

  1. Project Management skills: Ability to set clear goals and measures for success and able to track performance accordingly.
  2. Market Unit and International Business Acumen: Working knowledge and insights into international industry and market dynamics or for junior applicants a willingness to go beyond day-to-day effort to learn and understand other countries cultures and operating models.
  3. PC Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point.
  4. Research & AI: Knowledge and awareness how to complete desktop research & data analysis.

Technical/ Functional Expertise (Preferred):

  1. Experience in relationship management.
  2. Have project or activation experience.
  3. Social Media & Digital Savvy.

Industry Experience (Essential):

  1. Basic understanding of or firsthand experience in the Hospitality/Foodservice & FMCG industries, to anticipate and manage trends, technologies, markets and economics.

Industry Experience (Preferred):

  1. Knowledge of the customer and/or competitor landscape (in market).
