Job Responsibilities

1. Study & prepare the Design For Manufacturing (DFM) process on New Products Launch (NPL) on product cast-ability & feasibility.
2. Review & consult on customer product requirements with the best practices based on general casting standard (NADCA).
3. Understand tool materials, design criteria, GD&T and the use of these principles in tooling/part.
4. Design Fixtures & Gauges for the products to ensure the fit, form & function of the part requirement can be met & maintained.
5. Manage tooling suppliers and vendors using best practices during Die build programs and modifications keeping within time and budget.
6. Utilize design software (Solidworks) to conceptualize manufacturing tooling and processes.
7. Experience in gating, thermal and mold design with ability to read, run and understand flow simulations desired.
8. Develop and qualify high pressure die cast processes through the means of PQ2 analysis and flow simulations to ensure product produced to the highest standard.
9. Analyse defect root cause & implement corrective action for product quality as per customer requirement & product yield issues during New Product Launch (NPL) stage.
10. Prepare Work Instruction (WI) documents for process control & review the FMEA documents to have solid control plan.
11. Collaborate with engineering, supervisor, and quality to troubleshoot all production issues related to process, part quality & tooling (Die).

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
2. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
3. Experience with simulation tools (MAGMASOFT, FLOW-3D).
4. Have a good knowledge in 2D Drawing Interpretation skills & GD&T.
5. Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
