Job description

A fusion cafe located in KL Eco City, serving specialty coffee, fusion & western food is looking for a Cafe Manager to join the team.

General:

A cafe manager oversees the day-to-day operations of a cafe. This includes selling food and drinks, hiring and scheduling staff, menu planning, and maintaining inventory. Additionally, the manager will coordinate with vendors, be accountable for the cafe’s sales performance, monitor budgets, and work to improve profit margins.

Duties:

  1. Develop, implement, and manage a strategic plan and operations to achieve cafe’s sales targets.
  2. Accountable for the business performance of the cafe.
  3. Responsible for daily operations, including menu planning, ordering, and inventory management.
  4. Recommend inventory and menu choices, and oversee procurement of supplies.
  5. Ensure proper inventory control in accordance with company standards.
  6. Maintain inventory levels to meet customer demand, and order ingredients as needed.
  7. Create and manage a comprehensive budget for the cafe, including special events and advertising.
  8. Manage, train, and develop a team to achieve optimal operations at the cafe.
  9. Promote a positive team environment through effective management of the team.
  10. Drive customer engagement at the cafe through food and beverage service, and through marketing efforts.
  11. Work together with the Marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, implement marketing campaigns, and develop branding strategies to drive food and beverage sales.
  12. Manage the cafe’s website and point of sale system, including grab service, etc.
  13. Collaborate with the HR team for hiring, payroll, and human resource-related matters.
  14. Check daily conditions of all physical facilities and equipment in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
  15. Proactively identify issues, prioritize issues, and implement solutions.
  16. Ensure compliance with the mall's rules, regulations, licensing, hygiene, health, and safety legislation.
  17. Create and maintain policies and procedures, as well as present them to management for approval.
  18. Keep track and update daily and monthly sales and present monthly financial reports to management.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in managing a cafe and/or coffee house.
  2. Ability to handle coffee machines and other appliances.
  3. Basic knowledge of handheld restaurant point of sale systems.
  4. Ability to control costs and maximize profit margin.
  5. Diploma/Degree in F&B/Hospitality/Business.
  6. Background as a Barista is required.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  8. Extraordinary communication and organizational skills.
  9. Pleasant personality with the ability to converse in multiple languages.
