The Buyer is responsible for procuring goods, materials, and services to support the company's operational needs. This role ensures a seamless supply chain by evaluating suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery, while maintaining cost efficiency and ensuring the continuity of supply. The Buyer collaborates with internal stakeholders and vendors to optimize procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, and drive operational excellence.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Issuance of Purchase Order per request or triggering from system (Microsoft D365).
- Plans, schedules and monitors all materials to ensure fulfillment of production build.
- Procures and negotiates all required parts, components, equipment, supplies and services from suppliers meeting delivery schedule within lead time.
- Responsible for Supplier’s forecast and working with Supplier and Categories team to resolve the supply risk, gap and escalation in a timely manner.
- Analyze forecast accuracy and capacity requirement and communicate with respective Stakeholders for necessary actions to support business and customer needs.
- Manage, control and optimize stock levels/availabilities and review Min-Max for parts in BOM list.
- Work with Categories Management team on Supplier Frame Contract and periodic system update and revised plan when forecast changes.
- Drive meeting department KPI – Supplier on Time Delivery (SOTD), Inventory Turns, Excess and Obsolescence materials, monitor and ensure 100% fulfillment of delivery dates of PO stated.
- Work closely with suppliers, Categories team (Purchasing), Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), Supplier Development Quality (SDQ), Warehouse and Shipping in goods return/replacement if any rejects are found.
- Review Purchase Order claims for conformance to company policy and procedures.
- Participate in change control process and make sure transition plan is in place to phase in new parts and phase out obsoleted parts to avoid or minimize impact on scrap cost.
- Cooperate with Strategic Purchasing in the development and handover of new products and support inventory management for flawless transition to mass production.
- Manage supplier scorecard with Categories Team and coordinate supplier continuous improvement (development) initiative.
- Work closely with Finance to close all challenges of Account Payable properly.
- Drive innovation and focus activities on continuous improvement within the Supply Chain Organization.
- Support Purchasing Leader with reports on and as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds a Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience in Purchasing/Supply.
- Experience in indirect & direct purchasing.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Team player.
- Possess result-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Well versed in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Good analytical skills and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Preferably well experienced in metal machining parts assembly industries.
