Job description

Our client, a luxurious 5-star boutique hospitality brand and integrated family resort located in the prime location of Penang, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Butler to join their dynamic team.

As a Butler, you will be responsible for providing personalized service to guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their stay. This includes managing requests, coordinating with other departments, and anticipating needs to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in hospitality management, tourism, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the hospitality industry with at least 2 years experience as a butler or guest service role from reputable brands.
  • Experience serving high-profile and VIP clientele is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of luxury service etiquette and guest engagement techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to various cultures and personalities.
  • Excellent command of the English language is required, and proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and guest profiling software.

Responsibilities:

  • Personally greet and escort guests upon arrival, providing a warm and memorable welcome.
  • Offer a detailed orientation of the property, including rooms, suites, and on-site facilities.
  • Unpack and arrange luggage, ensuring all guest belongings are handled with care.
  • Anticipate and fulfill guest needs based on their preferences and requests.
  • Provide tailored services such as arranging dining experiences, spa appointments, or excursions.
  • Act as a liaison for special events, celebrations, or surprises organized by or for the guest.
  • Handle complaints or special requests with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues promptly and maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Lead and oversee the butler team to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service.
  • Conduct daily briefings, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
  • Establish service standards and ensure all team members are trained in luxury hospitality protocols.
  • Mentor junior butlers, offering guidance and hands-on training in personalized service.
  • Conduct performance reviews and implement development plans for team members.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
