About our client:

Our Client operates in the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry, with its headquarters rooted strongly in Singapore. It has its branches spread to more than 5 countries, providing employment to 250 people. Their core business is to represent their client in countries that they do not operate in, and market/sell their products for them. They have achieved a wide client base in a very short time, and are looking for new talent.

Job description:
  • The business unit head will be responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing functions for the division’s product portfolio.
  • Reporting directly to the senior management team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving commercial success and achieving revenue targets.
  • This is a highly strategic and influential position that requires exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of the consumer industry.
Responsibilities:

Business management:
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies for the nicotine range of products, targeting multiple sales channels, including retail, pharmacies, supermarkets, online, wholesale, and distribution partners.
  • Manage the business unit's P&L, closely monitoring budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and business strategies to enhance brand positioning for sell-through.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment to achieve business objectives.
  • Lead and manage the sales and marketing team to drive revenue growth and meet sales targets.
New business development:
  • Build business cases for new portfolios and/or new product introductions into the country.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective product life cycle management, from launch strategies to lifecycle planning.
  • Conduct market insights and market data analysis for new product introduction from customers and consumers.
  • Develop consumer purchase cycles and product forecasts for the products.
Marketing implementation:
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential challenges in the competitive environment.
  • Develop and lead execution of an omnichannel experience strategy to optimize customer engagement and maximize sales and marketing efforts.
  • Engage key influencers and trade stakeholders to promote products effectively.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in sales and marketing roles within the consumer industry.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth, achieving sales targets, and effectively managing P&L for product portfolios.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of the consumer area, especially OTC, including key products and market dynamics.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
