Job Summary:
A Senior Business Technology Solution Analyst (BA) is responsible for evaluating and improving General Insurance Core system end-to-end processes. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data, identifying business needs, creating documentation, and recommending solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. The BA acts as a bridge between stakeholders, vendors, and IT teams to ensure that business requirements are effectively translated into technical solutions. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Job Description:
- Understand, gather, and analyze business functional needs and requirements (As-Is-Process) and define (To-Be-Process) mapping back against General Insurance (GI) Core system and relevant internal & external front-end system for a change request or enhancement implementation.
- Work closely with business process owners to provide overall guidance in the fit-gap analysis to identify operational/business process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement for the system used.
- Facilitate design sessions with the implementation team to define the solution.
- Investigate compatibility with the existing operating environment, assess cost-benefit factors that involve budgetary/resources impact to the organization, and work closely with internal stakeholders/business owners during the solutioning phase to derive a complete business case.
- Responsible for functional specification of end-to-end solutions delivery, deployment, system integration, and user acceptance of the product/system/application.
- Play a System Owner role for the module or application assigned to create, develop, manage the system development roadmap, and maintain a RSA/Change Request enhancement backlog.
- Perform requirement/idea request prioritization process according to business values and mandatory regulatory compliance deadlines (if applicable).
- Lead the application release planning and set expectations for the delivery of new functionalities with business stakeholders.
- Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlight any potential concerns/risks and proactively share best risk management practices.
The Person:
- Degree Holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related disciplines.
- At least 8 years of working experience in the General Insurance (GI) industry, preferably in a Business Analyst role.
- Good knowledge of General Insurance-related systems and their operational processes is an asset.
- Sharp conflict management and problem-solving skills.
- Highly people-oriented with the ability to lead, drive, motivate, and coach.
- Strong IT Risk and governance management mindset.
- Good command of the English language (both spoken and written). Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.
- Possess high leadership skills and effective communication skills.
- High level of integrity, takes accountability for work, and has a good attitude toward teamwork.
- Takes initiative to improve the current state of things and is adaptable to embrace new changes.
