Role Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to expand our B2B partnerships in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. The ideal candidate will have a strong network in the local travel agency market, exceptional presentation and relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of the holiday and leisure market. This role requires someone fluent in the local language and with at least 5 years of experience in the airline, travel, or DMC industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- B2B Partner Acquisition: Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with offline travel agents and agencies to drive sign-ups and build a strong B2B partner network.
- Market Analysis and Strategy: Leverage deep knowledge of the local travel market to identify growth opportunities, competitive trends, and client needs to develop effective sales strategies.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with travel agents, ensuring trust and long-term collaboration.
- Sales Targets and Performance: Drive revenue growth by meeting or exceeding B2B sign-up targets and ensuring consistent partner engagement. Key metrics will be sign-ups, active agents, and sales value.
- Product Knowledge and Training: Present Nexus DMC’s value proposition, products, and services to potential partners through compelling presentations, product demos, and training sessions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, operations, and technology teams to ensure seamless partner onboarding and engagement.
- Client Support: Act as the primary point of contact for B2B partners, addressing queries, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Reporting and Insights: Regularly update the leadership team on progress, market trends, and potential challenges through detailed reports and analytics.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in the airline, DMC, or travel industry. Proven track record of successfully managing and growing B2B relationships in the local travel agency market.
- Skills: Strong understanding of the holiday and leisure market dynamics in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to pitch ideas effectively. Strong networking and relationship-building abilities within the offline travel agent ecosystem. Fluency in English and at least one local language (Malay, Thai, or Mandarin, as relevant to the location).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with the operations of offline travel agencies, including booking processes, holiday package trends, and leisure travel preferences. Knowledge of industry tools, CRMs, and reporting systems is a plus.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively within the region to meet partners and attend events. A team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and achieving goals.
