Our client is seeking a Business Controller to join their team in Selangor. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a trusted partner to the management team, providing impartial analysis and proactively seeking out improvements in business operations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing budgets and plans for the organisation, providing key information for decision making. What You'll Do

As a Business Controller, your role will be pivotal in shaping the financial direction of our client's operations. You will be responsible for compiling budgets and forecasts, assisting in formulating business plans, monitoring profitability, and building up market intelligence. Your expertise will also be utilised in handling ad-hoc tasks and projects requested by various departments. Furthermore, you will have the overall responsibility for production controlling. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your financial acumen and strategic thinking to drive success.

• Compile budget and forecasts for the Malaysia reporting unit using inputs from various departments.
• Assist the business development department in formulating coherent business plans.
• Monitor the profitability of sales, segments, and reporting units as a whole.
• Compile weekly and monthly sales estimates ensuring forecast reliability.
• Build up the market intelligence portfolio in the region.
• Handle ad-hoc tasks including all projects requested by Sales/Business Development/Operations.
• Proactively benchmark across the company improving the control environment.
• Ensure the integrity of production key figures, variable production costs, maintenance costs, standard costing models, bill of materials.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate for this Business Controller position brings a wealth of experience in financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and planning. With a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant professional experience under your belt, you are proficient in using financial software and tools such as ERP systems and Excel. Your ability to provide technical business accounting advice will be invaluable in maximising company values and minimising risk. Additionally, your knowledge of industry-specific financial practices and regulations will give you an edge in this role.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA) is preferred.
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven track record related to financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and planning.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel).
• Ability to provide technical business accounting advice to various stakeholders.
• Possess system competence for any similar kind of business intelligence reporting.
• Knowledge of industry-specific financial practices and regulations is a plus.
