Job Description:

Job Summary - validation and submission of the day-to-day brokerage declaration activities. They will perform defined brokerage processes and procedures, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance within internal and external standards to meet deadlines. The candidate will validate and detect irregularities and use judgment based on regulatory guidelines along with Importing and Exporting Laws to resolve issues. They will conduct dialogue with customers for any technical information needed to support the customs clearance.

Job Duties:

  1. Conduct declaration validation and submission
  2. Review and interpret shipping documents
  3. Support brokerage declaration activities by applying the regulated declaration requirements through assessing shipment details
  4. Communicate with customers when necessary to facilitate declaration submission
  5. Inform and validate with customers when the amount payable is between the 1st and 2nd level threshold for confirmation of “OK”
  6. Manage notification to Finance & Accounting (F&A) when the amount payable is greater than the 2nd level threshold for F&A to collect payment before Customs submission is performed
  7. Answer, manage, and follow up on incoming customer inquiries regarding potential declaration errors
  8. Review and resubmit customs declaration where required
  9. Communicate with government agencies when necessary to facilitate voluntary disclosures
  10. Responsible for maintaining the necessary document retention on all queries
  11. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and set expectations for timelines
  12. Report trends and CAPs to management accordingly
