Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior BI and Data Analyst to join our Pricing team. The ideal candidate will assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to help drive informed business decisions. This mid entry-level position is perfect for someone with a passion for data, keen analytical skills, and a desire to grow in the field of data analytics.
Core Accountabilities
- Data Collection and Management:
- Gather and compile data from various sources.
- Maintain and update pricing databases and data systems.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through reconciliation, risk factor updates, and database maintenance.
- Support data preparation for model development and refinement.
- Data Analysis:
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed reports and presentations for management.
- Use statistical techniques to interpret data and generate actionable recommendations.
- Business Intelligence and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain BI dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Support the design and development of data models for BI solutions.
- Collaborate with business units to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
- Support and Collaboration:
- Work closely with pricing analysts and other team members to support various projects.
- Provide ad-hoc data analysis and reporting as requested by stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of data processes and tools.

- Proficiency in any relevant statistical software and programming languages (e.g., VBA, SAS, Python, R, or SQL)
- Understanding of actuarial principles and practices on pricing methodologies

- Experience with data visualization tools
- Understanding of local BNM regulatory requirement in General Insurance and General Takaful landscape

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent at minimum.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and experience with querying databases.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions and data visualization techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with statistical analysis and tools such as SAS, WPS, R or Python.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Previous internship or work experience in a data-related role.
- Experience in working with Microsoft Azure.
- At least one year working experience.
