Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) or other barges in compliance with maritime and safety regulations.
Supervise and manage the barge crew, ensuring optimal performance and safety on the vessel.
Monitor the daily operations and manage logistical aspects related to the barges activities.
Liaise with the offshore team and onshore personnel to coordinate operations, resources, and schedules.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the vessel's equipment and perform regular checks to ensure that all machinery is functional and operational.
Enforce adherence to safety standards, ensuring all crew members are properly trained and follow safety protocols.
Provide leadership in emergency situations, implementing the required actions to ensure crew and vessel safety.
Maintain proper documentation and reporting of daily operations, safety checks, and any incidents.
Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, including local maritime authorities, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Perform any additional duties as required to support barge operations.
Requirement(s):
Minimum 2 years in similar capacity.Some countries may require Registered Barge Master.
Valid IWCF certificate Supervisor Level.
Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) certification.
Degree/ Diploma/ Cert/ Tertiary Education in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
For Malaysian-non-Sarawakian, holding a valid work permit is preferrable
