Summary

You will be responsible for driving business growth, overseeing marketing strategies, and working closely with relevant business divisions which include but not limited to the Operations or the Commercial leasing teams. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong learning agility and prepared to work quite independently with a proven track record in business development, and a strategic mindset to expand our market presence and drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities

1. Business Development:

You will play a key role in enhancing the company’s competitive position byidentifying and pursuing business opportunities and partnerships, and developing and implementing strategic plans, including:

a) Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate closely with CEO & Management team to craft business plans that align with the company’s long-term vision.
  • Development and execute strategic plans to propel Singapore Cruise Centre’s (SCCPL) overall growth and positioning in the industry.
  • Formulate negotiating strategies and positions by analysing the integration of new ventures with existing company strategies and operations.

b) Industry Trends

  • Research and stay abreast of industry trends and developments, presenting findings and reports on opportunities to the leadership team.
  • Provide forecasts and projections for the business.
  • Develop networks with industry partners to drive business growth e.g. participate in industry trade shows.

c) Identifying and Proposing New Business Opportunities

  • Identify, validate, and capitalise on new business opportunities for SCCPL, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive business development by building up a strong base of potential partners and helping to crystalise market opportunities. The role will also require analysing and preparing financial models, negotiating contracts where relevant, with the intent of aligning ventures with company strategies.

d) Cruise Line and Ferry Operator Partnerships

  • Collaborate with Operations to anchor more cruise lines in Singapore.
  • Secure additional ferry operators to diversify and enhance the current dynamics of Foreign Offices (FOs).

e) Asia Cruise Terminal Association

  • Partner closely with Cruise Ops for Asia Cruise Terminal Association in helping to administer and steering the association to grow the regional cruise business.

2. Marketing:

You will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies to drive passenger traffic and promote SCCPL’s services and facilities, including:

a) Destination Marketing

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to drive passenger traffic in close partnership with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (FOs, destination hotels, Riau tourism office, Bintan Resort, Desaru Coast) to secure financial support for marketing initiatives.
  • Foster partnerships with ecosystem partners to identify revenue opportunities.
  • Amplify events at partner destinations, such as Bintan Resort and Desaru Coast, through strategic marketing efforts.

b) Marketing of Terminal Services & Facilities and Commercial Spaces

  • Collaborate with Operations to optimize revenue for SCCPL assets.
  • Implement creative approaches to garner financial support for marketing initiatives through collaboration with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or Maritime-related disciplines.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in business development, marketing with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and achieving revenue targets in a competitive environment.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Has the flexibility of being a hands-on independent contributor and transitioning to also lead a small team as the portfolio grows
  • A good background in the cruise industry or the adjacent space in tourism / hospitality would be a distinct advantage.
