Automotive Workshop Manager

Job Responsibility

• Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
• Hires, trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of all service department staff.
• Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for efficiency and quality assurance.
• Develop and implement effective marketing and sales strategies to promote service department business and increase revenue.
• Communicate with customers to understand their vehicle service needs and maintain good relationship with them.
• Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
• Monitor workshop expenses and ensure cost control measures.
• Manage inventory levels, order spare parts, and negotiate with vendors.
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Adhere to government regulations, safety protocols, and environmental policies.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Able to speak in English.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an automotive workshop, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, inventory, and operational costs.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
