The purpose of this role is to plan, prepare and execute the Test Automation and Non-Functionality Testing (NFT - Performance Test, Load Test, etc.) streams while collaborating with programme stakeholders (including vendor) to develop test plans, ensure testing dependencies and execute testing deliverables, ensuring achievement of Programme Quality Plan. Drives team results, including quality of work, and timeliness.
What are you accountable for?
- Develop Test Strategy and Test Planning for TQA Test Automation & Non-Functionality Testing (NFT)
- Support in Developing test strategy and ensure alignment with programme transformation objectives.
- Analyses business requirements to understand the business needs and to determine how their applications can best functionally fulfil those needs.
- Develop test plan including traceability to ensure completeness of scope to meet programme objectives and business/function/operation needs.
- Planning and defining the scope of testing within the context of each programme release.
- Plans and provide projection of test resources required for the programme to ensure sufficient test resources are assigned to achieve and execute test cases.
- Support Head of QA & QA Test Manager to define the Test Automation & NFT methodology for the programme.
- Responsible for maintaining on an ongoing basis the overall test strategy and plan that will drive and govern the execution of programme test plan.
- Identifies and establish test standards, methods and relevant test tools to be utilized to ensure proper test coverage.
- Creates TQA Test Automation & NFT Plans, Evaluates Progress & Results
- Responsible for detailing test methodology, test types, test phases and correlating entrance and exit criteria, key test conditions/scenarios, timing, sequencing and dependencies.
- Collaborate with respective workstreams to assist in the development of a comprehensive QA of all test plan and schedule (including SIT, Performance, Security, Operation, Migration, UAT, FUT, etc.).
- Prepare and Facilitate various test discussions involving test scenario/case walkthroughs, Issue Management and Defect Management.
- Displays ability to adjust plans, resulting from dynamic changes in programme and the business environment, to meet programme deliverables.
- Develops and reviews final test summary report and obtaining key programme stakeholders sign-off for promotion to production.
- Escalate issues and risks in a timely manner to the QA Test Manager.
- Test Automation & NFT Execution Management
- Lead and Coordinate test execution activities amongst workstreams across testing life cycle. If necessary, to assist in execution of testing processes to ensure testing objectives are met.
- Monitors and guides all parties (including third-party vendors) test execution to ensure timeliness, quality, and effectiveness.
- Validate test data/result according to business/system requirements.
- Ensures that assigned testing teams work together effectively and that testing function is properly integrated across technological areas.
- Schedule execution of test cases, then continuously monitor, measure, control and report on the test progress, the product quality status and the test results.
- Proactively evaluate and identify effectiveness and improvements areas with immediate rectification actions.
- Analyzes Test Metrics and Produces QA Reports
- Track key testing metrics and develop status update reports.
- Ensures regular and consistent communication of progress towards programme testing objective to programme stakeholders.
- Conducts QA reviews and inspections to find potential defects and recommend corrective action.
- Conducts post-phase and programme analysis to identify and foster a culture of continuous improvements in testing process or otherwise.
- Utilize appropriate tools to ensure all risks and defects are properly assessed, documented, escalated and monitored.
- Work and coordinate with other parties such as Internal Audit, Assurance/Compliance team on QA criteria and improvements action plan.
- Reviews testing documentation deliverables and provide feedback to QA Test Manager.
- E2E testing
- Utilizing business storyboard for various business roles to develop E2E test plan covering Business Processes and enabling system functions. To create real-life simulation for various customer scenarios.
- Leadership
- Should possess strong leadership qualities with ability to manage varying team dynamics whilst ensuring efficiency and productivity of team members. Part of performing this, requires the person to lead and coach team members in specific related expertise.
- The role also requires the incumbent to ensure stakeholder alignment and manage expectations.
- Driving Change
- To act as transformative change agent, promote transformation objectives and new Business Processes and internet/digital mind set and behavioural. Drive efficiency, build awareness and share the knowledge of business principles, Business Process best practice and change priority across organization.
What do you need to have for this role?
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields. Industry knowledge in Telecommunications/Banking/Internet or similar.
- Total of 4 - 7 years of work experience and 1 - 2 years of leading the test automation and/or Non-Functional Testing teams.
- Previous experience in delivering & leading Test Automation and/or Non-Functional Test teams in CRM/Billing implementation projects is a must, with experiences in testing business processes will be an added advantage.
- Experience with developing effective test strategies, test plans, and conducting test execution.
- At least 2 years experienced with test automation and test automation tools (e.g. Katalon, Selenium, Appium).
- At least 2 years experienced with non-functional testing e.g. load test, performance test in multiples projects in the year.
- Strong technical skills and QA leadership.
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience in leading and directing small to medium sized teams in a matrix environment, including task/schedule development and management.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
- Strong inter-personal and stakeholder management skill, great communication, influencing, customer oriented mind-set, passionate and engaging skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
