Job description

As a Environment, Health and Safety Associate Manager, you will support the senior management team for regional operations based at Cluster Fulfilment Centre in Shah Alam, Malaysia, and the wider business in the identification, management, and control of EHS related risks. You will provide information, advice, guidance, and support to managers on H&S and Environmental legislation and disseminate EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) best practices throughout the business, along with developing EHS awareness material. You will identify any gaps in the Regional Environment, Health and Safety System in all operational sites and support in developing these areas. Additionally, you will identify weaknesses in safety performance and suggest methods of improvement to drive safety performance and cultural change by building safety into associated processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide competent health, safety, and environmental advice to meet all appropriate legal and policy standards.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the ZALORA EHS Strategy and Risk Registers.
  • Assist site management in the development of site Safety Action Plans relevant to the safety issues/risks identified.
  • Report on key issues and progress against ZALORA EHS Strategy, Safety Action Plan, and Risk Registers.
  • Provide information, advice, guidance, and support to managers and regional committee members.
  • Provide EHS and technical support to site management teams across ZALORA ventures.
  • Provide direction to site management in the investigations into relevant accidents, incidents, and injuries.
  • Analyse accident and incident performance for patterns and trends and advise management on appropriate corrective actions.
  • Direct operational teams with emergency planning and arrangements, including testing of emergency plans.
  • Assist Operational Teams in driving safety performance and safety culture by building safety into processes.
  • Develop training materials on relevant SHE issues to meet business needs and mitigate associated risks.
  • Deliver SHE training to site teams, Safety Representatives, and Representatives of Employee Safety.
  • Monitor the outputs from audits/inspections/reviews and any corrective actions raised.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and engaging with managers and team members to encourage and promote behavioral safety.
  • Identify any gaps in the Integrated Management System (IMS) and support in developing these areas.
  • Responsible for a number of sites within a Region of the ZALORA network.
  • Travel throughout ZALORA network of sites in Southeast Asia region.
  • Overall managing the facilities team and ensuring all facilities management in the FC aligns with our EHS & Security requirements.
  • Responsible for managing our internal Fulfillment CSR team in which he/she is directly responsible for due diligence of FC manpower agencies, and regular audits to comply with RBA/ILO standards.
  • Regionally responsible for physical security management and systems, emphasizing coaching the regional teams regarding loss prevention management, risk assessment for “Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design” (CTPED) and TAPA-FSR 2023, and responsible for revising the BCP regularly according to the identified risks.

Requirements

  • Technical Degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety as a minimum.
  • Technical member of DOSH (or working towards).
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a health, safety, and environment advisory role.
  • Strong accident and incident investigation skills.
  • Experience in the delivery of health and safety-related training.
  • Strong technical expertise in all areas of SHE (Safety, Health, Environment).
  • Statistical analysis skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and autonomously.
  • Strong leadership quality and stakeholder management. Creating a motivational environment, driving KAIZEN, and influencing associates and managers towards EHS compliance is expected for this role.
  • Engaging and influencing at all levels within the business.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Computer literate in all Microsoft Office packages.
  • Good presentational skills.
