With a commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to support our Engineering team. In this role, you will get hands-on experience in supporting the engineering team in the design, development, and execution of solar energy projects. You will work closely with senior engineers to analyze project requirements, conduct site assessments, and develop detailed engineering plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist lead engineers on technical direction in preparing specifications, proposals and/or contracts for projects, including:

Developing and completing system designs for PV projects (on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid systems) including site plans, mechanical racking and attachment plans, single-line electrical drawings, specification of balance of system (BOS) location, interconnection details, and labeling;
Planning and designing the arrangement of solar panels for PV projects such as rooftop and ground-mounted systems, including the selection of cables for plant layouts and schematic diagrams, and calculation of technical sizing;
Assisting in the preparation of the bill of quantity and bill of materials for each project.

Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility;

Provide direct day-to-day support, project management, and oversight of projects, including site visits and addressing queries from clients and subcontractors to ensure high-quality work and timely completion;

Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance;

Supervise and coordinate solar photovoltaic/energy efficiency installations, repairs, and maintenance activities when required;

Conduct site inspection visits to gather detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific project requirements. Prepare reports for internal records and discussion;

Conduct testing and commissioning of PV systems, including the setup of remote monitoring systems for various systems;

Assist Project Engineers in planning and scheduling project tasks;

Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies;

Monitor build progress, prepare sites before construction work begins, supervise subcontractor teams, identify potential issues, and take proactive measures to ensure timely completion of projects;

Conduct quality control inspections to verify adherence to standards and specifications and ensure technical proposals comply with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards;

Perform ad-hoc electrical troubleshooting and routine maintenance tasks for project sites (post-installation);

Assist with ad hoc projects as required by Management.

JOB COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENT

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Renewable Energy) or a related field.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Must possess own transport and be willing to travel to other states as required by business needs.
Willing to be based at Batu Kawan, Penang.
Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD or similar.
Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve project-related challenges.
Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Self-driven and proactive in finding solutions and meeting company objectives.
