Position

We are seeking a talented and experienced Associate / Associate Director, Electrical to join our team in Bukit Damansara, Malaysia. In this key role, you will lead and oversee structural engineering projects, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction. The right fit for this role will possess multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.
  2. Have full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
  3. Plan and develop engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems, involving exploration of subject area, definition of scope, and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.
  4. Maintain liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.
  5. Act independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.
  6. Manage a group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.
  7. Manage and direct complex electrical engineering projects from conception to completion.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and clients.
  9. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development.
  10. Contribute to business development efforts and client relationship management.
  11. Stay current with emerging technologies and sustainable design practices in electrical engineering.
  12. Serve as lead engineer on mid- to large-size projects, providing specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  13. Approve and sign off on work, providing technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
  14. Present complex technical solutions to clients.
  15. Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others.
  16. Participate in development of technical proposals.
  17. Provide estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  2. A minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering or related engineering area, with a proven track record in project management.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  4. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  5. Experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams.
  6. In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
  7. Understanding of sustainable design practices and their application in electrical engineering.
  8. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  9. Strong client relationship management skills.
