Associate Director - CF - M&A Advisory (Petaling Jaya)

The Corporate Finance – M&A Advisory practice provides independent advisory services to clients on strategic acquisitions (buy side) and divestments (sell side).

Responsibilities

1. Lead day-to-day deal execution, across all phases of a transaction.
2. Responsible for stakeholder management (i.e., with clients, other appointed advisors, bidders, etc.) and must be able to “own the dialogue.”
3. Work closely with Partner in deal origination, including identifying leads/prospects, developing pitch books, and delivering proposals.
4. Responsible for all internal client and engagement acceptance matters.
5. Directly support Partner on other initiatives in relation to eminence building, go-to-market activities, etc.

Requirements

1. Degree and/or professional qualification in finance/accounting/economics/engineering / CFA.
2. More than 6 years of relevant experience from an investment bank or accounting/consulting firm.
3. Successfully completed transactions from start to end, with a deep understanding of process and deal issues.
4. Strong analytical skills, i.e., transaction structuring, financial modelling/valuation, financial statement review, synergies analyses, etc.
5. Strong command of language (both written and spoken), with the ability to storyboard and articulate effectively.
6. Mandarin abilities (at business level) is an added advantage.
7. Strong commercial acumen, with good understanding of business and industry dynamics.
8. Motivated, have a strong sense of ownership, and able to lead teams with a “commit, not comply” principle.
