Associate Dealer/ Dealer, Equity, Investment Department
ROLE PURPOSE
Managing the country’s foreign currency reserves under the equity asset class.
Perform routine investment operations within the stipulated investment guidelines.
Carry out timely market assessment and conduct research analysis to support formulation of effective strategies for investments in equities.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Part of the team that manages the country’s foreign currency reserves, optimizes returns within stipulated risk and operational guidelines.
Perform market surveillance to assess its impact on reserves and to identify attractive investment opportunities in the equity markets.
Conduct sectoral research within the investment universe to formulate a broad view on sectoral positioning and portfolio strategy.
Conduct financial statement and balance sheet analysis of companies from equity investment perspectives.
Conduct site-visits in invested companies to gain insights and enhance understanding of the companies’ business models, strengths, and risk factors.
Conduct quantitative market analysis to formulate portfolio strategies and to assist in the execution of investment strategies.
Undertake ad-hoc projects or initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the existing portfolio management framework.
QUALIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or professional qualifications in accounting, economics, finance, or other quantitative based fields. Qualifications in other fields may be considered. A CFA holder would be an added advantage.
Experience: 1-5 years of working experience in the financial markets.
TECHNICAL SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE
Financial Market Intelligence & Analysis: Resourceful in identifying trends, economic analysis, opportunities, and potential risks associated with different investments to formulate portfolio strategy and analysis.
Investment Strategy Formulation and Execution: Ability to come up with investment strategy aligned with mandate and assist in the execution of investment strategy.
Forecasting, Modelling & Testing: Ability to interlink analytics and apply to financial models of companies from equity investment perspectives.
Investment and Treasury Compliance: Ensure all executions are in good governance and comply to industry standards while minimizing error of operations.
Analytical Thinking: The ability to analyze information and derive meaningful insights to inform decision making and drive improvements.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with peers and stakeholders.
