Job description

About the role:

The Junior/Assistant Tubular Advisor is a junior-level position in support of multiple customers' operations in Malaysia. The Junior/Assistant Tubular Advisor is responsible for all aspects of forecasting requirements and is the focal point for customers to direct specific questions regarding technical specifications and/or ordering of material. This position reports to the Technical Manager. This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Job responsibilities:

  1. Support and assist Tubular Advisor and Technical Manager in day-to-day operations and assignments including customers' enquiries.
  2. Plan and participate in periodic Forecast and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Meetings with Customers.
  3. Support analysis between demand forecast, latest inventory, and mill capacity.
  4. Coordinate with the customer to review customer-owned inventory and confirm the forecast demand.
  5. Discuss deviations from the original forecast with drilling engineers.
  6. Develop customer trust with regard to technical knowledge, product performance, and inventory utilization.
  7. Identify potential surplus and recommend substitution to Operator’s engineers.
  8. Manage Customer technical specification requirements (MPS, QCP, etc.).
  9. Obtain individual well design and drilling schedule from the customer. Provide cost estimation for string design change.
  10. Lead marketing activities with the Customer either via engagement in SPE activities, joint technical papers, best practice case study compilation, etc.
  11. Jointly work to prepare and organize technical seminars, lunch and learns, technical engagement as well as other customer engagement activities.
  12. Obtain market and competition outlook and intelligence.
  13. Internal and external performance reporting as required.
  14. Analyze forecast demand, on-hand, and on-order inventory.
  15. Update forecast with specific well requirements.
  16. Liaise with Site Coordinator and Inventory Controller to determine allocations of specific material requirements for each well.
  17. Regularly update Operations Team with drilling schedule status to proactively plan onshore preparation.
  18. Comply with national and local laws, legislation and adhere to business and quality policies.

Job requirements:

Must be able to develop and maintain effective business relationships with the customer and internally within the organization. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Must be able to prepare professional management reports for internal and external utilization, as required. 1 - 2 years working experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred. Fresh graduates with oil and gas qualifications are encouraged to apply.
