Assistant Sales Manager (Personal Safety Division)

Location: Penang (Home Base)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Personal Safety Division portfolio penetration within key end user and distributor customers. Drive key customer opportunities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate and regional sales objectives.
  • Execute marketing plan by actively preparing sales through cold calling, networking, and initiating sales prospects.
  • Research and monitor competitor sales and marketing activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners. Actively develop and maintain relationships with target customers.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all materials, communications, and events.
  • Implement sales forecasting activities; achieve or exceed annual business targets.
  • Represent company at exhibitions, seminars, and trade association meetings to promote brand recognition in accordance with company objectives.
  • Provide Personal Safety Division portfolio training and support to both internal key stakeholders and external customer base.
  • Work with total PSD sales representatives to drive and develop the business; work on those leads and convert them into business.
  • Timely reporting into CRM system.

Requirements:

  • Has a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Science or Engineering from an accredited University.
  • Has no less than 5 years of combined experience in Industrial Sales and/or Safety Marketplace Sales. Experience in sales of Personal Safety products (PPE/ Fall Protection/ SCBA).
  • Preferred experience in fall protection and Project Management.
  • Strong background in Key Account focused sales activity. Exhibits strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Experienced selling through various channels along with end user selling.
  • Demonstrates in-depth understanding of product lines, customer segments and their needs, internal functional needs, and competitive products, prices, and policies.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with different stakeholders.
  • A self-starter who can effectively work in a fast-paced environment, and work through as well as manage change/ambiguity, with an appropriate sense of urgency. Possesses strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced with MS Office and has the ability to understand technical diagrams (Autocad).
  • Good presentation & communication skills. Communicates fluently in English and Bahasa.
  • Ability to influence, communicate, and negotiate across all levels in an organization.
  • Able to leverage working relationships with key people in accounts and/or distributors at all levels to exceed sales objectives.
