Basic Salary: Between RM6,210.00 to RM14,370.00 (based on experience)

Kulliyyah (Faculty): Kulliyyah of Sustainable Tourism and Contemporary Language (KSTCL)
Location: Pagoh Edu Hub, Pagoh Campus, Johor

• Scope

The officer shall be a member of the staff of the Kulliyyah/Centre/Department to which he is assigned by the IIUM and shall perform teaching, examining, and research duties and such other obligations as are normally required of an academic staff member of the IIUM. The officer should also undertake moral and religious obligations in relation to his colleagues and students as part of his duties as a member of the academic staff of IIUM. The officer shall attend meetings of IIUM Authorities, Boards and Committees to which he may be appointed as a member by virtue of the IIUM Constitution or any Statutes or Acts, or of any administrative actions of the Rector, Dean or Head of the Kulliyyah/Centre/Department. The officer is also expected to participate in the general life of the IIUM community and advise and guide students in relation to their character, behaviour and moral conduct. In short, he is not only a teacher (Mu'allim), a scholar ('Alim) but also a moral educator (Murabbi).

• Key Responsibilities
• Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
• Developing curricula and course material that can be used across a number of platforms.
• Collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base.
• Setting and grading assignments, tests, exams.
• Conducting research, and writing papers, proposals, journal articles, and books.
• Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution.
• Participating in training opportunities and initiatives at the institution.
• Providing support to students and other colleagues.
• Staying current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.

• Minimum Qualifications

Position 1: English Language Studies, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics
Candidates must possess a PhD in Linguistics/Applied Linguistics/Language Studies, or a closely related field, specialization in English language.
Bachelor's degree in Applied Linguistics, Language Studies, or a related field.
A strong publication record and experience in teaching and supervision are highly desirable.
A passion for both teaching and research is essential.

Position 2: Communication
Candidates must possess a PhD in Communication/Media Studies, or a closely related field.
Bachelor's degree in Applied Communication, Media Studies, or a related field.
A strong publication record and experience in teaching and supervision are highly desirable.
A passion for both teaching and research is essential.

Language Qualifications
All candidates must have obtained:
Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level OR equivalent qualification recognized by the Government (for Malaysian citizens).
IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4. Candidates without any of these qualifications will be required to sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.
