Assistant Manager/ Senior Exec, Medical Underwriter

• Conduct prudent medical and financial underwriting assessment on new business, endorsement/alteration and reinstatement applications. Ensure underwriting assessment adheres to underwriting authority, business rules & regulations, underwriting manual and service level agreement (SLA) benchmark.
• Attend to internal and external enquiries or referrals. Analyse the enquiry/referral, provide solution and respond according to turn-around-time (TAT).
• Participate in system UAT activity, project and assignment in New Business department (e.g., for new product launching, system enhancement, production defect fix, process improvement).
• Assist Manager in preparing department dashboard report and any other report as required for management or regulatory reporting.
• Support Manager and Head of Department (HOD) in new business operations and work towards department targets. Ensure daily processing compliance to SOPs, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Undertake any other assignment, duty or project as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years working experience in medical underwriting of Life/Takaful insurance, Critical Illness, Accidental and Medical related products.
• With substandard medical underwriting authority of minimum +50% extra mortality.
• At least Degree level; academic background in a medical related field is preferred (e.g., Degree in Biomedical, Bioscience or Science).
