Job Purpose

To support and assist Managers/Section Head and Head, Product Development on all aspects of product and program structuring which includes development, enhancement, packaging, review and reporting of the business products for Retail segments.

Job Description

  1. Product Development and Program Structuring:
    Develop new retail products and review/enhance existing products to be tailored to the current market’s needs, in line with the Shariah requirements and in compliance with the product/program origination process in developing, reviewing or enhancing new or existing products/programs.
  2. Prepare proposal papers of new/enhanced product to Shariah Committee, Group Management Committee Products (GMC Products), Group Management Credit Committee (GMCC), Board of Directors (BOD), BNM and other regulatory authorities (if any) for approval purposes.
  3. Prepare Risk Materiality Assessment on the product variation for Group Risk Management’s endorsement.
  4. Collaborate with other business units and stakeholders in Affin Bank for any business proposal and/or product development initiatives.
  5. Prepare submission to Bank Negara Malaysia for product approval.
  6. Market Intelligence:
    Conduct research on product features and practice to ensure that the product remains competitive and assure that the product has the highest quality of standard.
  7. Documentation:
    Assist Product Training and Documentation Unit to review on the draft of the documentation as per Business Unit request.
  8. System:
    Prepare User Specification Form (USF) for the developed/enhanced products.
    Liaise with Business Enablement & Services (BES) team on the USF requirements.
    To review the Scope of Work and provide comments (if required).
    Verify the outcomes of the system development that has been implemented and testing for newly approved or enhanced products.
  9. General:
    Undertaking any other job functions, duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department/Division or Management from time to time.
Skills/ Knowledge

  • Good understanding of banking and products and facilities.
  • Good understanding of underlying Shariah principles in relation to Islamic Finance.
  • Software skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications.
